Sausage Toast Rollups (Printable Version)

Golden French toast rolled around juicy sausage links tastes awesome with some drizzle of maple syrup on top.

# What You'll Need:

→ For Cooking and Serving

01 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
02 - Maple syrup, as much as you want for topping
03 - Powdered sugar to sprinkle over at the end (optional)

→ Egg Mixture

04 - 2 big eggs
05 - 1/4 cup whole milk
06 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla (the real stuff)
08 - 2 tablespoons white sugar

→ Main

09 - 6 cooked breakfast sausage links
10 - 6 slices white bread, cut the crusts off

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Lay out the hot, crispy roll-ups on a plate. Add some maple syrup and maybe dust with powdered sugar if you feel like it.
02 - Toss roll-ups into your already-buttered skillet seam-side down. Keep turning them so they turn golden and get that crispy edge, should take 6 to 8 minutes all in.
03 - Dip each roll-up into your egg mix so they're totally covered on every side.
04 - Get your non-stick skillet going over medium heat and toss in the butter. Wait until it melts and gets all bubbly.
05 - Grab a shallow bowl and whisk up the eggs, milk, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla until it's a smooth mix.
06 - Put a sausage link at one edge of your flattened bread. Roll everything up tightly so the sausage is inside.
07 - Take each slice of bread and use a rolling pin to squash them thin and flat. You want an even sheet.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Old bread works better for rolling, plus you'll get a better crunch.
02 - Try out different sausages or swap in thick ham slices if you're in the mood.
