Sausage Toast Rollups (Printable Version)

Grab some soft bread, wrap up sausages inside, dip in eggs and cinnamon, cook till they're crispy, then pour on maple syrup.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main

01 - 15 grams unsalted butter
02 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
03 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
04 - 120 ml milk
05 - 4 large eggs
06 - 8 cooked breakfast sausage links
07 - 8 slices white or whole wheat bread

→ To Serve

08 - Powdered sugar for sprinkling (if you want)
09 - A drizzle of maple syrup

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Pile the warm roll-ups on a plate, pour on some maple syrup, and if you want, shake a little powdered sugar over the top.
02 - Drop butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Brown the roll-ups on all sides, turning now and then, about 3 to 4 minutes. If you used toothpicks, grab those out.
03 - Dip each sausage-filled bread roll into your eggy mixture. Make sure you cover all of the sides well.
04 - Stick a sausage link at one end of your bread slice. Roll it up snug, pop in a toothpick if you're worried it'll unravel.
05 - Crack the eggs into a wide bowl. Shake in cinnamon, splash in vanilla, and pour in the milk. Whisk it up till it all comes together.
06 - Lop the crusts off the bread slices. Use a rolling pin to squash 'em flat.
07 - Cook sausage links in a pan or oven, following whatever your package says. When they're done, set aside.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Swap in turkey or plant-based sausage if you want a lighter or no-meat option.
02 - You can put these together a day early, stash 'em in the fridge, then warm them up when you're ready to eat.
