Husband Budget Casserole (Printable Version)

Cheesy, beefy layers and soft noodles make this filling baked meal that won't break the bank.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
02 - 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
03 - 2 cups cooked pasta (elbow or rotini), drained
04 - 1/2 cup sour cream
05 - 1 can (10 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
06 - 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
07 - Black pepper, as much as you like
08 - Salt, as much as you want
09 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
10 - 1 small onion, chopped up
11 - 1 pound ground beef

→ Garnish

12 - A little chopped fresh parsley if you like

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Now take your dish out of the oven, throw on some parsley if you want, and enjoy while it’s still hot.
02 - Pop it back in, but leave the foil off. Bake around ten minutes until the top is golden and melted.
03 - Throw a sheet of foil over the top and bake for about twenty minutes. That’ll get everything nice and hot.
04 - Evenly sprinkle the mozzarella over everything so you get gooey cheese in every bite.
05 - Do the same thing again—pasta on the bottom, beef and sauce on top, another round of cheddar sprinkled all over.
06 - Toss half the pasta into your greased baking dish. Spread on half of your beefy sauce, then top with cheddar.
07 - Once your beef’s cooked, toss in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Dump in the tomato sauce, soup, and sour cream, then mix until it’s smooth and heated through.
08 - Heat up a big pan on medium. Cook your ground beef with the diced onion until the meat’s browned and onions are soft. Make sure to drain off the grease.
09 - Flip your oven on to 350°F (175°C). Lightly oil up a 9 by 13 dish so nothing sticks, then set it aside.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Want a lighter dish? Use ground chicken or turkey. You can also swap in cream of chicken for the mushroom soup if that's what you've got.
