Penne with Peas (Printable Version)

Fast penne dish with crispy bacon, green peas, and sautéed onions.

# What You'll Need:

→ Primary Components

01 - 1 tablespoon extra virgin oil
02 - ½ onion (yellow), chopped tiny
03 - 1 cup peas (frozen)
04 - 6 thick bacon strips, diced small
05 - ¾ pound pasta (penne)
06 - ¼ cup cream (heavy)

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Get a big pot of water boiling with salt, then dump in your penne. When you're halfway done cooking, toss the frozen peas right in the same water. Cook according to what the box says, but knock off a minute so your pasta stays a bit firm.
02 - Warm up the oil in a wide pan over medium-high flame. Toss in your tiny chopped onions and bacon bits. Let them cook till crispy but watch they don't burn.
03 - Strain your pasta and peas, then dump them into your pan with the bacon and onions. Turn down the heat, pour in your heavy cream, and give it all a good stir. Add a splash more cream if it looks dry and get it on the table fast.

# Additional Notes:

01 - This dish needs to be eaten right away. The pasta gets mushier the longer it sits. Let everyone add their own cheese at the table. As they say in Italy, 'You don't keep pasta waiting - pasta keeps you waiting.'
