Pancake Sausage Bake (Printable Version)

Cheesy sausage tucked with fluffy pancakes—perfect for busy mornings or big brunches. Quick to throw together and always a hit.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Components

01 - Cooking spray or soft butter for the pan
02 - 115 g cheddar cheese, shredded, if you want
03 - 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon, you can skip this
04 - 2 tablespoons real maple syrup, if you like
05 - 2 tablespoons butter, melted
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
07 - 1 large egg
08 - 240 ml whole milk
09 - 240 g pancake mix
10 - 450 g sausage for breakfast, use spicy if you like more heat

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Let it rest five minutes before you cut. Pour extra maple syrup on top if you want and dig in while it's still warm.
02 - Slide the dish into the center of your oven. Let it go for about 25 to 30 minutes. Check with a toothpick. If it comes out clean and the top’s browned up, you’re good.
03 - Spread the rest of your pancake mix right over the sausage and cheese so it's all covered up. Sprinkle the sausage onto the first layer of batter, then the cheese if you want. Pour half the pancake mixture first to start the layers.
04 - Grab a huge bowl. Toss in the pancake mix, cinnamon, melted butter, milk, vanilla, egg, and maple syrup (if you’re using them). Whisk but don’t go crazy, you want it pretty lumpy.
05 - Break up the sausage in a skillet and cook on medium so it gets crumbly and browned. Spoon out any fat you don’t want left.
06 - Coat every spot of your baking dish with butter or spray so nothing sticks.
07 - Get your oven going at 190°C. Wait until it's fully hot.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Keep the batter a bit lumpy instead of mixing it until smooth. That way, it'll stay fluffy.
