Meatball Mash Bake (Printable Version)

Loads of meatballs, soft mashed potatoes, and melty cheese all come together in a homey dinner everyone digs into.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Components

01 - 115 g mozzarella or cheddar, shredded
02 - 355 ml brown gravy, either from scratch or a store jar
03 - 950 ml mashed potatoes, homemade or leftover
04 - 450 g cooked meatballs, homemade or frozen

→ Seasonings and Garnishes

05 - Ground black pepper, as much as you like
06 - Salt to your taste
07 - Chopped green onions or parsley for topping if you want

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Take out the dish, let it cool for a few minutes, throw on some parsley or green onions if you want, and dig in.
02 - Pop it in the oven uncovered. Bake around 25 to 30 minutes till you get a bubbly, golden top.
03 - Pile the shredded cheese all over the mashed potatoes. Just sprinkle it everywhere.
04 - Spread mashed potatoes right on top of everything else. Smooth it out to cover everything.
05 - Drench the meatballs with the brown gravy. Give them a little mix so they’re well covered.
06 - Get your baking dish a quick grease. Lay out all the meatballs across the bottom.
07 - Set your oven to 190°C so it gets hot. Put the rack in the middle.

# Additional Notes:

01 - If your mashed potatoes are cold, microwave them so they’ll spread easier.
02 - Want crunchier cheese? Stick the dish under the broiler for the last couple of minutes.
03 - Using frozen meatballs? Warm them up before you put everything together.
04 - You can put everything together the day before and keep it in the fridge. If you bake it cold, add 5–10 more minutes.
05 - Grab a deep baking dish to keep stuff from spilling if you’re loading up on extra toppings or gravy.
