Get your oven hot at 350°F (175°C). Coat a 9×13 inch pan with oil or butter.

Take a bowl and mix the room temperature cream cheese with white sugar until it's smooth.

Drop in eggs one by one, mixing well after each one goes in.

Mix in your lemon juice and grated peel until everything's blended together.

In a different bowl, stir together the lemon cake mix, water, and veggie oil until it's smooth with no lumps.

Put the cake mix on top of the cream cheese mix in your pan. Don't stir them - they'll make their own layers.

Stick it in the oven for about 40-45 minutes. It's done when the top looks golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

Let your cake sit for 10-15 minutes before you cut into it.
