Jalapeno Popper Sandwich (Printable Version)

A cheesy, rich bite with jalapenos and crunchy bacon.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - Chopped cilantro if you want
02 - Pats of butter
03 - 4 slices Italian bread
04 - 2 slices sharp cheddar cheese
05 - 2 jalapenos, sliced open lengthwise, take out seeds and insides
06 - 4 ounces cream cheese
07 - 2 slices Monterey Jack cheese
08 - 4 strips beef bacon, cooked crispy

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Put a few pats of butter on the top of each sandwich. Set the sandwiches in a skillet on medium-low, butter facing down. Add more pats of butter on the top. Let each side toast until it’s golden. The cheese will get all gooey and melty.
02 - Take your cooked stuffed jalapenos and slice them up small. Spread them on top of the bread slices with cheddar cheese. Pile the beef bacon onto the other bread slices with Monterey Jack. If you’re feeling it, toss on some cilantro. Put the cheesy bacon bread slices on top of the jalapeno ones to make two sandwiches.
03 - Set your oven to 375 degrees. Put about an ounce of cream cheese inside each jalapeno half. Line them up on a baking sheet and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Pull them out of the oven when they’re done.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Wear kitchen gloves while slicing up peppers and scooping out the insides. Wash your hands really well after touching them so you don’t upset your skin.
02 - Don’t overpack the peppers with cream cheese or you’ll end up with a mess on your baking tray.
03 - If you’d rather your stuffed jalapenos be on the firmer side, cut the cook time down by 10 minutes.
04 - Pick some high-quality, smoked bacon that doesn’t have nitrates if you can.
05 - For the most amazing sandwiches, look for thick slices of bakery white, Italian, or even hearty European bread.
06 - Nice thick, good cheese is key here—it really makes everything pop.
