Holiday Cookie Centerpiece (Printable Version)

Massive cookie loaded with chocolate candies baked until golden crisp.

# What You'll Need:

→ Wet Mix

01 - ½ cup melted butter (one stick, about 4 ounces)
02 - ¾ cup brown sugar
03 - ¼ cup white sugar
04 - 1 egg
05 - 2 teaspoons vanilla flavor

→ Dry Mix

06 - 1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
07 - ½ teaspoon baking soda
08 - ¼ teaspoon table salt

→ Add-ins

09 - ½ cup chocolate morsels
10 - ¾ cup colorful candy pieces, split (like Easter M&M's and tiny Cadbury eggs)

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Heat your oven to 350ºF. Coat a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray and put it aside.
02 - Melt your butter in a big microwave-safe container. Stir in both sugars, then add vanilla. Mix in the egg until everything's smooth.
03 - In another bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly pour this into your wet mixture, stirring gently until it's all combined.
04 - Gently fold chocolate morsels and half the candy pieces into the batter. Save the rest of the candy for topping.
05 - Dump the dough into your greased pie dish and flatten the top with a spatula. Bake about 25 minutes until it turns golden on top.
06 - Take it out and quickly press the leftover candy onto the hot surface. Let your cookie cake cool down before you cut it up.

# Additional Notes:

01 - The total time doesn't count how long it takes to cool.
02 - You might need to tweak things if you're baking at high elevations.
