Heat your oven to 350ºF. Coat a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray and put it aside.

Melt your butter in a big microwave-safe container. Stir in both sugars, then add vanilla. Mix in the egg until everything's smooth.

In another bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly pour this into your wet mixture, stirring gently until it's all combined.

Gently fold chocolate morsels and half the candy pieces into the batter. Save the rest of the candy for topping.

Dump the dough into your greased pie dish and flatten the top with a spatula. Bake about 25 minutes until it turns golden on top.

Take it out and quickly press the leftover candy onto the hot surface. Let your cookie cake cool down before you cut it up.
