Toss ketchup, Dr. Pepper, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, smoked paprika, a little salt, some black pepper, and garlic powder into your saucepan.

Set the saucepan on medium heat and keep stirring now and then till it comes to a good boil.

Turn the heat way down and let it gently bubble for 20 to 30 minutes. Give it a stir every so often and watch for it to thicken how you like.

Give it a quick taste. Add more salt or pepper if you think it needs a bit more.

Take it off the burner, let it cool off, then pop it in an airtight container. Stick it in the fridge and it'll be good for about a week.
