Lightly dust chicken pieces with flour and shake off any extra before putting them on a plate.

Get a big skillet nice and hot with 2-3 tablespoons butter or oil over high heat.

Put half your chicken in the hot pan and cook until brown on each side for about 3 minutes. Sprinkle some salt and pepper while they're cooking.

Take out the first batch, add more butter or oil if you need to, and brown the remaining chicken pieces.

Move all the browned chicken into your crock pot.

Scatter the dry Italian mix and chopped garlic over your chicken.

Add the chicken broth and lemon juice over everything.

Put the lid on and let it cook on low for around 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
