Chipped Beef Toast (Printable Version)

Thick creamy sauce packed with dried beef, spooned onto golden toast. It’s warming and satisfying every time.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 8 slices white bread, toasted
02 - 8 ounces dried beef, cut up into thin strips
03 - Black pepper, cracked fresh, to taste
04 - Salt, use as much or as little as you like
05 - 2 cups whole milk
06 - 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
07 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Spoon the creamy beef mix on your toasted bread. Get it to the table right away so it's nice and hot.
02 - Toss in the dried beef strips and coat them in the sauce. Stir them around for a couple of minutes so they warm up.
03 - Give the sauce a good shake of salt and some black pepper. Use as much as you like and taste as you go.
04 - Slowly pour in the milk while whisking. Keep whisking as it heats until you’ve got a smooth, thicker sauce.
05 - Whisk the flour right into that melted butter. Keep stirring until it’s all thick and lump-free.
06 - Set a big skillet on medium heat. Drop in the butter and let it melt all the way.

# Additional Notes:

01 - If your dried beef tastes pretty salty, drop it in water for a little while. Pat dry before cooking—this way, you cut down the saltiness.
