Get your oven hot at 350°F (175°C). Put some butter and flour on a 9×13 inch baking dish.

Grab a big bowl and mix flour, baking powder, and salt together well.

Take another bowl and beat the soft butter with white sugar until it looks puffy and pale.

Drop in eggs one by one, then stir in the vanilla flavoring until everything's mixed up good.

Little by little, put the dry mix into the butter stuff, adding some milk between batches. Stir just enough to make it smooth.

In a separate bowl, toss cornflakes with brown sugar and cinnamon so all the flakes get coated.

Dump the cake mix into your buttered pan and make the top flat with a spoon.

Sprinkle all that cornflake mix on top of the batter and push down a tiny bit so it sticks.

Stick it in the oven for about 25-30 minutes. You'll know it's done when you poke it with a toothpick and nothing sticks.

Take the cake out and let it sit in the pan for around 15 minutes. Then move it to a rack until it's totally cool.
