Choc Cherry Cake (Printable Version)

Super moist chocolate cake, loaded with gooey cherries—easy to make, sweet, and ready for any party.

# What You'll Need:

→ Topping

01 - 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
02 - 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
03 - 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter

→ Cake

04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
05 - 1 cup water
06 - 1/2 cup vegetable oil
07 - 3 big eggs
08 - 1 box of chocolate cake mix

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) so it can heat up. Rub a little oil or butter all over your 9×13-inch baking dish. First, dump the melted butter in the bottom. Sprinkle that with brown sugar, and finally, spoon on the cherry pie filling to cover the surface.
02 - Grab a big bowl and toss in the cake mix, eggs, oil, water, and vanilla. Mix it all together so it’s smooth and you don’t see any dry spots.
03 - Dump your cake batter right on top of the cherry layer in your pan. Smooth it out so everything’s even.
04 - Slide the pan into your hot oven. Let it bake for about 35 to 40 minutes. You’ll know it’s done if you poke the middle with a toothpick and it comes out clean.
05 - When it’s done, pull it out and wait 10 minutes. Put a big plate over the pan and flip it over, so the cake lands topping side up on the plate. Eat it while it’s warm or just let it cool and dig in later.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Try topping it with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra yum.
02 - Stash any extras in a sealed container on the counter. It’ll taste good for up to three days.
