Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) so it can heat up. Rub a little oil or butter all over your 9×13-inch baking dish. First, dump the melted butter in the bottom. Sprinkle that with brown sugar, and finally, spoon on the cherry pie filling to cover the surface.
02 -
Grab a big bowl and toss in the cake mix, eggs, oil, water, and vanilla. Mix it all together so it’s smooth and you don’t see any dry spots.
03 -
Dump your cake batter right on top of the cherry layer in your pan. Smooth it out so everything’s even.
04 -
Slide the pan into your hot oven. Let it bake for about 35 to 40 minutes. You’ll know it’s done if you poke the middle with a toothpick and it comes out clean.
05 -
When it’s done, pull it out and wait 10 minutes. Put a big plate over the pan and flip it over, so the cake lands topping side up on the plate. Eat it while it’s warm or just let it cool and dig in later.
