Give your 9x9 baking dish a quick coat of cooking spray.

Throw chicken, onion, and bell pepper in a big skillet on medium heat. Cook about 5-6 minutes until meat isn't pink anymore.

Pour in the BBQ and tomato sauces. Let it bubble up, then turn down the heat and cook for another 5 minutes.

In a big bowl, stir together the cornmeal, milk, flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, egg, and melted butter until it's all smooth.

Put the cooked meat mixture into the dish first, sprinkle all the cheese on top, then pour the cornbread mix over everything.
