01 -
In a medium pot on medium-high heat, mix in blueberries, sugar, and water. Bring it up to a bubble, then lower the heat for 5 minutes. Let those berries get super soft. Smash them up so they let go of all their sweet juice.
02 -
Move the pot off the burner. Chuck in the basil leaves, give it all a good swirl, cover it with a lid, and let it hang out for 20 minutes. This helps the taste soak through.
03 -
Pour your mixture into a strainer over a big bowl or jug. Press out every last bit of flavor and color from what's left behind. Toss the leftover pulp once you're done.
04 -
In a pitcher, add your basil-blueberry syrup, all the lemon juice, and the cold sparkling water. Stir it up so it's all even.
05 -
Fill a cup with loads of ice, pour in your drink, and if you want, top with some basil, fresh blueberries, or slices of lemon to make it fun.
